Год выдался сложный, полный жизненных перемен, как очень хороших, так и очень плохих. Многое хорошее забираю с собой в новый год, но и от плохого, к сожалению, никуда не деться, придется тоже нести. В уходящем году было много новых ощущений и осознаний, многие мечты сбылись, и многие жизненные ценности были пересмотрены. Беспомощности и горечи тоже хватило. Я очень надеюсь на то, что новый год принесет здоровье, спокойствие, и душевное равновесие мне и моим близким. Хочу верить, что плохое останется в уходящем году, а хорошее приумножится. Надеюсь, что планы на этот год сбудутся, и что удача в этом году будет всем сопутствовать. Пусть в этом году будет побольше мудрости, рассудительности, оптимизма, и доброты! Всех с Наступающим Новым 2009 Годом!

Выборы на носу, и я решила почитать про John McCain, так как ничего толком о нем не знаю. Мда, дорогая редакция, я в шоке. Оказывается, он бросил свою первую жену, Carol, (они были женаты 14 лет) с тремя детьми, чтобы женится на богатенькой (наследнице огромного пивного distributorship), молоденькой (17 лет разница в возрасте) нынешней жене, Cindy. Причем, прежняя жена была swimsuit model, которая его ждала 5 лет, пока он был в плену, посылала ему посылки, организовывала группы поддержки, воспитывала одна трех детей (ну, в общем, чуть ли не жена декабриста). И вот McCain вернулся и обнаружил что жена потеряла свою модельную внешность из-за телесных увечий в автомобильной катастрофе и сразу же стал ходить налево. Встретил Cindy с деньгами и связями, бросил Carol, и женился на Cindy через месяц после развода. Называется, что не сделаешь ради карьеры. Бррр....Точно не хочу такого президента.

According to wiki, average male height of US Caucasians born between 1980 and 1983 is 179.25cm (5'10.6"). Average female height of the same sample population is 165.05cm (5'5.0"). By contrast, average male height of 17 year olds in Dinaric Alps, as measured in 2005, is 185.6cm (6'1.0"), and average female height of the same population is 171.0cm (5'7.3"). And I bet those 17 year olds are now even taller :). Turns out, with my nearly 170cm, I'd be below average height if I lived in Dinaric Alps. :) But if I lived in Philippines, I'd be a giant. Average male height of people aged 20 - 39, as measured in 2003, is 163.5cm (5'4.4"). And average female height of the same population is 151.8cm (4'11.8"). Oh, and speaking of giants, the world's tallest living man is from my home country, Ukraine. He's 257cm (8'5.5"). Знай наших! :)

Seems like all of of the news this weekend is just all around depressing. For example, ( Crane collapses on midtown, kills three people, injures others... )( Tornado trashes Atlanta... )( 100 dead in Tibet violence... )( 4 dead, 170 injured in Albania blast... ) Plus, looks like we'll soon witness ( the end of Bear Stearns... )Never thought that could happen, but, guess, everything's possible nowdays... Anything good happening in the world these days?
